I just want to give a shout out to the people who thought this was such great writing that they posted it on their own blog and called it their own. Your copy and paste skills are of amazing use to us all. We are bow in awe at your ability to take credit for things you did not do.

Note: if you want to refer to this in your blog, I’d be overjoyed. But, copying the whole thing, and pasting it somewhere else as your own is fucking pointless. Pointless to you (it doesn’t get you any more traffic than a decent link and summary), poinless to your reader (they are coming to you for your excellent commentary, and your information finding skills, so linking them to me is hardly going to stop them coming back to you) and pointless to me (because you take something that I took hours to write and take all the credit, while keeping my readers from me).

Of course, it’s such a lame move that appeals to logic are hardly going to stop anyone. But I’m just saying… Trackbacks increase everyone’s search engine ranking, you know.

I have not done any more research into this.

I’m afraid it was a while since I wrote this, and the boards in question no longer appear searchable from the outside. I will see if I can dig up the specifc sites that I copied this from, if I do not have the entire source material saved somewhere.

The stuff on the government work is easy to find online. However, the other discussion was naturally much more interesting. Furthermore, it went on for tens of pages – most of it quite over the head of normal mortals.

EDIT: The board in question is called overgrow.com. It’s no longer online. I hope it is not gone forever.

I’ve seen an article in Cannabis Culture magazine from 2000 with some of this same info.
